NARS – Hiya Tigidig 2

For the second time, Hiya Tigidig – A show for a cause comes to the nursing department to bring a good show of talent in fashion design as each year level competes for the good prizes at stake (and I forgot what they were) with different categories in design. It this year’s event, it has been entitled as N.A.R.S. short of Nurses Aesthetically Revealing Science – A Fashion Show for a Cause.

  

The first years have been tasked to dress up in Victorian design. Quite a challenge to look for clothes with Victorian design these days yet it shows quite a huge impact in everyday wear. As what we’ve observed from a clinical instructor last week, she wore a Victorian top which really gave quite a good appeal for this category. The Victorian category is known for its huge puffy dresses and Dracula-like clothes. LOL So much for Twilight inspired clothing eh? XD Maybe Pirate’s of the Carribean design might be an interesting sight this February 7. Yeah~ The design of the clothes in the PotC movies are of Victorian.

 

As for the second years, they would be showing the Gothic/Emo/Punk/Rocker design. The easiest of all the categories and my most favorite wear. The hair and attitue are the things that matters the most with this category. If you don’t have the hair and the attitude to carry the stereotype, then you fail. This category is the most economic because of the fact that the clothes can be found almost anywhere and all they would probably need is some make-up, styling gel or hair spray and some punk accessories. Oh yeah! Don’t forget the Chuck Taylor shoes. They are a must have! (Too bad my brother didn’t get me one when he was at Manila ) I remember this girl in school whom they call “Emo Girl”. Daaaaaaamn~ She really knows how to carry Emo/Goth wear. @___@ Her hair rocks!

  

The third years also has somewhat great category because of the simple design of the clothes. They would be featuring the cocktail dresses. These dresses range from puffy to sexy clothes. They are those dresses that you see in some classy and expensive boutiques. These are the usual dresses that are featured in fashion shows (Fashion TV\Lifestyle channel anyone? LOL)

As for the seniors, they’d be featuring the Futuristic\Metallic designs. Mainly about shiny and metallic cloths for the clothes. Somehow, a challenge on the design of the dress and even the cloth. Hoping that they’d be able to pull it off.

All of the designs have to comply with the school’s dress code. Meaning the clothes designed should be wearable in school or even outside. Well, mainly about school ^^
