Good Video Card = Better Photo Viewing?

I noticed that the photos that I took seemed to look darker compared to that of the screen on my camera and phone. The ones in the camera and on my phone look brighter compared to that of the PC. I removed the UV screen thing so that the screen would look brighter but still it’s dark. I tried viewing the photos on my laptop and they do look brighter compared to that on my PC. I don’t understand why its like this. Is it the monitor? Or that of the video card? O__O;
